AWARDS & ACCOLADES
"...every lush illustration stretches across a full-bleed spread, enveloping readers in the golden warmth of the kittens' fire-lit home and the enchantment of the winter wonderland beyond its windows...Elliott tells the story in economical, repetitive and rhythmic words and phrases that further lull and comfort...A book as "cozy, comfy and toasty" as the objects it describes.” --Publisher's Weekly

"Elliott's simple, onomatopoeic text with a twist at the end will satisfy storytime and bedtime audiences alike. Redwall picture-book illustrator Denise could not have packed more charm into his acrylic-and-ink kittens...this is a winner for all collections of kitty lit. --Kirkus Reviews

"The story sets the stage for a quiet goodnight." --Children's Literature

"High marks on the cuteness scale!..Who could resist the lopsided stocking cap slipping down that sweet kitten's brow?" --Planet Esme

"...endearing story that, with its repetitions and sound words, is perfect for bedtime reading.." --School Library Journal

"This is a terrific choice for the youngest listeners, who are just getting into the concept of story. The text is short but snappy; the artwork, which fills the spreads with soft winter colors, focuses on the characters but still provides detail. Keep this in mind for toddler storytimes as well." --Booklist

"Knitty Kitty is a perfect end-of-day story, one that sets the tone for good dreams and sweetens the night with kid/adult interaction, along with an easing nudge toward independent reading." --Blog, The Independent Stitch

"Did I mention, this is the sweetest bedtime story since "Goodnight, Moon"?" --Seacoast Online.com

"Perfect for storytime, Knitty Kitty reads just as beautifully as it looks. Children will enjoy hearing the rhythm of the words as they are read aloud and seeing all the ways the kittens interact with each other on the page." --Curled Up with a Good Kids Book

SOMETHING YOU DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS BOOK
I rewrote this book many, many times, so many times, in fact, that the final printed version is almost unrecognizable from the the one with which I started. Sometimes the simpler the story, the more difficult the writing.
